AITSL list seven standards which outline what teachers should know and demonstrate. The standards are structured into three domains: Professional Knowledge, Professional Practice, Professional Engagement but are not considered to be stand-alone standards. Within each standard there are focus areas and content descriptors for each of the four professional career stages: Graduate, Proficient, Highly Accomplished and Lead.
